I am employed by Alcom Ltd, 299A Edgware Road, London, W2, as
Secretary to the Managing director. I have been so employed
for the past twelve years. I have been asked by Police
if I know a man by the name of Panos KOUPPARIS.
[Undisclosed material]
Panos KOUPPARIS worked for this company on a free lance
basis starting in 1979. I didn't have a lot to do with him
at that time as I was mainly worked night work.
[Undisclosed material]
In about 1981-1982 KOUPPARIS disappeared from the company
without reason and I didn't see or hear from him until this
year. The contact address I had for him at that time was
Suit 10, 119 Oxford Street, London, W1. Telephone No. 637-
4153 also Pager No. 828-5621 code 2913. Also at that he
was involved in a company by the name Elscan Ltd, 350 Edgware
Road, W2. Telephone No. 723-3815 and another company by

the name of CAMPENLIA in Cyprus. On Tuesday 7th April,
1987, I received a telephone call from Panos KOUPPARIS in
my office, although he tried to disguise his voice by means
of using a frequency shifter. Later that evening KOUPPARIS
came to the office. The conversation was mainly about com-
puters. He also invited me for a meal which I accepted.
He then telephoned the Intercontinental Hotel and booked
a table in the name of MILLER, we then drove to the hotel
by his Rover car, blue in colour, which was hired from Guy
Solmon. Over dinner I asked him why that he booked the
table in the name of MILLER. He told me that Panos KOUPPARIS
is dead and now has nine identities with passports to go
with the names. He also stated that he was working for
the Cypriot Government and they were trying to locate him
but he was keeping a low profile. He also said that he
was researching in the care for Aids and he had travelled
quite a lot in recent years. He also told me that his baby
brother was acting as his body guard. I couldn't understand
this but he said it was because of the nature of his work.
Over the next couple of days I received two or three tele-
phone calls from Panos. On Friday 10th April 1987 he tele-
phoned me again and said that he had a very important business
meeting that evening and he would like me to escort him.
He said that it was going to be the deal of a lifetime.
I again accepted. He later arrived at my office at about
6.30 pm where he also invited my secretary Vanessa JARRETT.
We three, then drove in a silver Granada which I believe

was also hired from Guy SOLMON to a Rag Trade Showroom in
Eastcastle Street, W1, where we met three other Greek looking
men, one with the name Chris. Chris appeared quite well
off. We then went to a Indian Restaurant somewhere in the
East End. I don't know exactly where. During the course
of this meal the four men spoke in Greek. Vanessa and I
were completely left out of the conversations. I form the
opinion that Panos only took us to impress the others. The
next time I heard from Panos was on Wednesday 29th April
1987 when he telephoned me as he wanted to bring some people
to the office for a demonstration of our equipment. He
didn't say who these people were. About 6.45 pm Panos arrived
with his wife KIKA, and his youngest brother. I think his name
is Jason. Whilst in the office he made a telephone call
then told me that he had arranged the demonstration for
that evening. At 7.15 pm he left the office, saying that
he was going to the Metropol Hotel to meet these people.
He returned at 7.45 pm with two mediterranean looking men
aged about 25 years. They spoke with an English accent
except for a few phrases of Greek. During the demonstration
KOUPPARIS gave the wrong description to some of the items
of equipment. They all left the office at about 9 pm. I
haven't seen KOUPPARIS since.
