I have lived at the above address for about 6 years together
with my parents. I can't remember the date but one Saturday
in march I had been to Stallions Night Club in the West End
of London together with Barnabas KINDERSLEY, Jake CLENNEL
and Sofie THOMPSON. We were walking in the main road by
Leicester Square tube station when I saw Barny and Jake talk-
ing to a man Sofie and I walked up and I started talking
to the man as well. he told us he was staying at the White
House Hotel. Jokingly we said "You can take us there for
a drink". He said "OK" and stopped a taxi. before we got
into the taxi he showed us a contraption which made a noise
like a dog barking. When we got to the hotel we had to sit
in a lounge area as the security officer would not let
us go to his room. he brought us some drinks and sandwiches
and showed us a lot of money. I asked him what his name

was and he said "Call me Commander Nemo". I noticed that he wore a black leather glove on his right hand that night and every other time I saw him. I asked him what he did and he said he couldn't tell us because it was very secretive and that he had diplomatic privilege. He then wanted to go for a drive and we all went with him. I was sitting in the front and the others were asleep in the back. After driv- ving around for a while he dropped me off at Barny's house with Barny. I can't remember exactly which day it was but I went to the White House Hotel with Barny, Jake and Sofie again and saw Nemo. He told us he had been asked to leave the hotel. His bags were loaded into his car and we went somewhere with him, I can't remember where. One day, we met him at the Inter Continental Hotel and he took us to 'Good earth' Chinese Restaurant in Knightsbridge. He paid for it in cash. It was very expensive. After the meal we went to Heaven Night Club. After a while Nemo said he was tired and wanted to leave and he gave us £150 to enjoy our- selves as he felt guilty leaving us. [Undisclosed material] I'm not sure if it was a day later or two days later but I saw him again. I was with Jake and Barny and another girl. We went to the Inter Continental Hotel because he wanted us to meet some of this friends. He took us to another hotel. I can't remember its name. I remember meeting Jason and Andre. He told me they were just friends of his. he said Jason was at college and Andre was a Burtons retail salesman. [Undisclosed material] Charlotte Cripps Juliet Kindersley 52
They referred to Nemo as pan, when ever we called him Commander Nemo they laughed. There was two other men there who appeared to be very rich. They said they were clothes designers for Top Shop, Chelsea Girl and shops like that. Nemo said it was good for us to meet them as they could design our clothes when we became a 'Pop group'. we all then went to Browns Club which is near Holborn Station. I overheard Nemo talking to the two clothes designers. I heard mention of machine guns and that they had heard Nemo was short of money. Jason took some photographs of us all. At about four in the morning Barny and I was dropped off at Barny's house by Jason and Andre. I do remember that Jason and Andre kept saying they were friends of Nemos and that he was honest and straight. Barny and I then went to Italy for a weeks holiday. When we came back from holiday Jake, Barny, Sofie and I went to the Churchill Hotel to meet Nemo. He told us we were to meet a millionaire who was going to back us as a pop group. We met the man at the Churchill Hotel, he was a fat man who was a Cypriot. he told us he was taking us to a place where we could dance and have a drink. We left the hotel and us four got into a Rolls Royce motor car and Nemo followed behind in his car. we were taken to some flats in St Johns Wood. We went into the flats and went to the top floor. I didn't like it in the flat and asked Nemo if we could go and he told me to sit quiet and wait. this frightened me and I said to my friends I wanted to go for a walk as I felt sick. The door was opened and we were allowed to go. We ran from the flats Charlotte Cripps Juliet Kindersley 53
and went home. About two days later we again met Nemo at the Inter Continental Hotel. He had a woman with him who he said was his wife. I can't recall her name, and a small girl he said was his daughter. She couldn't speak any English. Also there was a coloured man who Nemo said was an old school- friend. Nemo showed me some passports and credit cards which had expired. The name on them was Panos KOUPPARIS. He told us that he had called himself Nemo on the spur of the moment. I recall the passports were Swiss, Cypriot and English, they were all in his name and had his photograph in. Then his mother came to look after the little girl and we all went to browns Club. He kept saying he was going to make a million pounds a year and his wife just said yes as if just to keep him happy. I noticed when she opened her purse it was full of bank notes. Nemo left with his wife and the coloured man and we stayed on for a while. [Undisclosed material] The last time I saw him he said he had just got back from Cornwall. He said he had taken his wife and daughter for a short holiday. It was late at night and he picked us up from Jakes house. there was the four of us and a boy called Ian. We went to a Kentucky Fried Chicken shop in the West End and then he dropped me and Barny off at Home. [Undisclosed material] I forgot to say that the time before last that we met Nemo he took us to a cousin of his named Jimmy SPARKLE. He lived somewhere in Peckham. We had earlier picked up a woman named Christine who was also a Cypriot. At Jimmy SPARKLES we sang Charlotte Cripps Juliet Kindersley 54
a song and he thought we weren't all that good. Later we left and he dropped Barny and me off. [Undisclosed material] I would describe Nemo as about 35 years, small in height about 5'4". he wore dark glasses a lot and Burton Clothing. He had black hair and a chubby face and was a tanned Cypriot colour. [Undisclosed material] This statement was taken in the presence of Mrs Juliet KINDERSLEY.
