I am a Student at Woods Tutorial College, Heath Street, Hampstead
NW8.
[Undisclosed material]
I am studying English Language.

About the beginning of April one evening I had been to Stallions
Night Club, Charing Cross Road with Barney KINDERSLEY, Charlotte
KRIPS and Jake CLENNELL. On leaving the club we walked along
Charing Cross Road and saw a man looking in a Computer Shop
window. One of the boy said to this man "You can get radia-
tion poisoning from looking at those" or something like that.
The man who I would describe as aged about 35/40 years, 5'6"
in height, Greek appearance dark coloured hair, balding, clean
shaven with a London/Greek accent. I can't recall what he was
wearing. He had long fingernails. This man spoke to us but
I didn't take a lot of interest. After speaking to him for
a few minutes, he invited us back to his hotel, which we

accepted. We travelled to the hotel by car. At the hotel
we had drinks in the reception area. Later we went for
a drive with him, I am not sure where we went, in fact
I fell asleep in the back of the car.
[Undisclosed material]
I woke up again once we were back at the hotel. Prior
to leaving for this drive he told us that his name was Nemo
and we were to call him Commander Nemo but this changed
later to Captain Nemo. That morning Jake and I had breakfast
with him. Barney and Charlotte had been dropped off earlier.
During breakfast Nemo spoke about his idea to find an
island and build on it and turn it into a manmade paradise.
After breakfast he drove Jake and I home. After that we
saw him almost every night, he would meet us near Covent
Garden then take us to Restaurants and Clubs. After a couple
of meetings he started talking about making the
four of us into a 'Pop Group'. On our third or fourth
meeting we arranged to meet him at the White House Hotel.
I'm not sure what had happened but there had been some
trouble at the hotel. He put quite a lot of Berton named
bags in his car and on that occasion we drove away from
the hotel very quickly and went to a night club. As we
were in his car on this occasion he mentioned that he
had some pills which would keep you awake. These pills
were small in size and round. He didn't say what they
were. he didn't stay very long at the club but on leaving
he gave the others £100. I left with this man and he drove
me home.

Over the next two or three nights we met this man again
normally in Covent Garden and we went to Browns Night Club.
On one occasion we met two of his friends. He said that
they were young rich boys who had inherited their money.
I would describe these two as 'A' aged early twenties,
5'10"-11" in height, Greek appearance, dark coloured hair,
clean shaven, wearing a well dressed suit. 'B' aged about
the same maybe a bit younger, as he sat down all the time,
I'm not sure of his height, wimpish face, dark hair, Greek
appearance, clean shaven, wearing I think a suit. I took
no notice of these two men. Also I think one was a fashion
retailer. This night Barney and Charlotte left for a holiday.
Whilst they were on holiday Jake and I saw this man again
on one occasion. On this night he spoke again about forming
a band and he introduced to a man by the name of James
SPARKLE, in fact he did have some form of identification
with that name. I would describe this man as about 25 years,
5'10" in height, Greek appearance long black hair in a
pony tail which was frizzy, clean shaven, wearing casual
clothes. He spoke about the music business.
[Undisclosed material]
After Barney and Charlotte returned from holiday we went
out with Nemo again and again we met Mr SPARKLE. On this
occasion Nemo took us to SPARKLE's home in Hornsey lane,
Islington where we had a sound test. Nemo's wife and daughter
was also there who we had met some days earlier.
On the day we did meet Nemo's wife, he had shown us various
Credit cards, press cards which had expired. On this occasion

he wanted to see our parents but they didn't turn up.
Another night we met this other man who Nemo said was very
important. We met this man in the Churchill Hotel. He
had a foreign name. I describe him as 45/55 years, 6'
in height well built, grey hair wearing a grey suit. He
spoke to Nemo in a foreign tongue whilst we spoke about
the band. Nemo suggested that we went back to this guys
flat in St. Johns Wood. We went with the man in his Rolls
Royce I don't know the address. At the Flat we had a drink
then we left.
[Undisclosed material]
We didn't see him for a while until he telephoned us. We
met him again in Covent Garden, on this occasion he only
had a small amount of money on him, about £15 so we only
drove around in his car. I believe this was the last time
I saw him. I finally found out that his name was Panos
KOUPPARIS after seeing a business card.
[Undisclosed material]
During the times that I saw this man he drove two or three
different cars. They appeared hired I don't know the makers.
His normal dress was a suit, trilby hat, sunglasses or
smart casual wear.

Further to my statement dated 19th May 1987. On the occasions
I met Panos KOUPPARIS with his wife I as well as the others,
used the name NEMO when I spoke to him. I cannot recall if
there was any reaction from his wife to this name.
I was present throughout the above interview
