Dear Dr Ashton,

Thank you for your reply of 11th Jan. Quite a lot has happened since my original letter to you which has helped my new solicitor to accept the validity of my defence. Dr Bowden's report is no longer of any consideration in this case as the prosecution has disclosed one of my Cypriot doctor's letters which has demolished his credibility beyond repair, notwithstanding the fact that no less than four other psychiatrists' reports have found me to be totally fit and sane. I accept that Dr Bowden is considered to be one of the leading forensic experts in the field and I have no doubt that this was why he was chosen in this instance but, the fact remains, as shown by documentary evidence, that his report is complete and utter nonsense.

Ms Postgate has not yet approached either of my doctors for my reports although I have no doubt she will do so quite soon. We are about to be given disclosure of the unserved exhibits and documents amongst which are my second doctor's letter, various prescriptions, medications, etc. which should confirm my pharmacology. I also have quite a number of independent witnesses to corroborate my treatments and the effects they had upon me.

The letter already disclosed proves that I was given Parstelin and several benzodiazepines continuously for over a year whilst stating clearly that I was being treated for a 'romantically' related depression. Personally, I do not think they will co-operate by releasing any records or attending the trial, even though I shall subpoena them, as they cannot be compelled to do so by a British court. In any event, Ms Postgate has agreed to approach you with the evidence we do have and I expect you shall be hearing from her in due course.

Thanking you for your kind consideration, I remain,

        Yours faithfully,

        P. Koupparis
